Early Intensive Behaviour Intervention begins as soon as a diagnosis is confirmed. EIBI may produce the greatest gains when intervention is started before age 2.

It is recommended that for optimal results, EIBI should be delivered to a child for no less than 20 hours a week, with some studies recommending 30-40 hours per week. Despite this, Lizard are flexible to the needs of families and can offer support at whatever level of intensity is required.

ASD and behavioural intervention is focused on the objective identification of skill deficits and behavioural excesses, and the use of teaching tactics derived from ABA to build functional skills

Initial Assessment for Autism Behaviour Intervention and other Developmental Delays:

Before commencing the Early and Intensive Behavioural Intervention program, your child will complete a comprehensive developmental assessment. This enables our expert clinicians to get to know your child better and to build a high-quality tailored program. We select from a range of the latest evidence-based, developmental, and functional assessment and curricula to develop individualised goals and intervention plan for your child.
It includes:

  • 2-hour initial clinic with your Behaviour Support Specialist and/or Assistant Behaviour Support Specialist Program Supervisor
  • 12 sessions in our centre with a Registered or Experienced Behaviour Therapist
  • A comprehensive development/functional behaviour assessment & report
  • An individualised set of goals and teaching protocols
  • It is also recommended that parents attend our in-house ABA training to get the best start and gain skills on the science that will be implemented with your child.
